We have created the campground page to assist you in deciding whether you would like to stay at a given campground. We currently have a 40' Diesel Motorhome with three slides; prior to 2007 we had a 35' Gas Motorhome with one slide. We do not rate campground bathroom facilities as we seldom use them; we prefer the convenience of our own restroom. We use the various campground links on the left side of this page in determining where to stay.

Happy Camping!

Portal RV Park

Location: Moab, UT
Site#: 45 (on the south side)
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes, at times it was slow. Our Verizon mifi worked fine as well
Cable: Yes.
Pros: On the south side section the lots are wide and long.  Our row had not been nicely landscaped but the other two rows behind us were completed.  It had a nice fenced in dog park, pool and hot tub.
Cons:  The manager had his own set of rules for his friends in the park, and as a result several sites had lots of stuff sitting around (multiple large trailers, ATV's, etc..).
Cost: $40.45/day with AARP discount
Rating: 8.5
Notes:  We stopped here to visit with family, and to tour Arches NP and Canyonlands.  Many of the rv parks in Moab are a very tight fit for Big Rigs, so we would probably stay here again just because we didn't feel we would have many other options.

Rating: 7.00
Notes:  We stopped here to tour Mesa Verde National Park.  It was very nice have the city park across the street; however next time I would try and get a site on the other side of the park.
