We have created the campground page to assist you in deciding whether you would like to stay at a given campground. We currently have a 40' Diesel Motorhome with three slides; prior to 2007 we had a 35' Gas Motorhome with one slide. We do not rate campground bathroom facilities as we seldom use them; we prefer the convenience of our own restroom. We use the various campground links on the left side of this page in determining where to stay.

Happy Camping!

Sundance RV Park

Location: Cortez, CO
Site#: 64
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes, and our Verizon mifi worked fine as well
Cable: Yes.
Pros: Located right across from the city park where we walked, played disc golf and play ball with Koko.  The rv  park was located within walking distance of restaurants and walmart.
Cons:  Behind our site was a  very busy street where traffic seemed to race up and down all night long.
Cost: $33.34/day with Good Sam's Discount
Rating: 7.00
Notes:  We stopped here to tour Mesa Verde National Park.  It was very nice have the city park across the street; however next time I would try and get a site on the other side of the park.

Cedar Creek RV Park - Montrose, CO

Location: Montrose, CO
Site#: 24
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes
Cable: Yes
Pros: Very small, but well-maintained campground. The owners were very friendly and lead us to our site. All sites are very level, and ours was a nice wide spot, we also had excellent cell phone coverage. The campground was central located for us to tour the Black Canyon National Park, Ouray, and Silverton.
Cons: You have no privacy between sites, and no swimming pool or other amenities (only mini-golf).

Cost: $32.00
Rating: 8.75
Notes: We stayed in this area to visit the Black Canyon National Park, Ouray, and Silverton. Lots to see and do in this area.

Ami's Acres Campground - Glenwood Springs, CO

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO
Site#: 13
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes, but very tight (we have three slides and were able to extend all of them).
Wi-Fi: Was available in the front office area only, or possible sites closer to office. We could not pick it up from our site
Cable: No
Pros: About the only campground with 50AMP full hookups in the Aspen - Glenwood Springs area. Its close to Glenwood Springs and many activities in the area. The owner very friendly and working on maintaining the grounds. The view of the surrounding mountains is very nice. The cell phone coverage in this area is excellent, so I could use my air card for Internet access.
Cons: Road (I-70) and Railroad noise. The sites were covered with large gravel (stones) that are difficult to walk on and don't cover the entire ground, so the ground can get muddy. Sites are very narrow for a big-rig with slide outs. The campground is built into a hill, so the driveway is very steep and no place to unhook your tow vehicle except the road. No amenities (pool, playground for children, etc..) and the TV antenna reception is not very good (we picked one channel).
Cost: $34.81
Rating: 5.5
Notes: We stayed in this area to visit family in Aspen and enjoy the outdoor activities between Aspen and Glenwood Springs.

Elk Meadows Resort - Estes Park, CO

Location: Estes Park, CO
Site#: C3
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes
Cable: Yes
Pros: Very nice campground while beautiful views of the Rockies. The staff was very friendly and they assisted you to your site. Lots of amenities and very nice lodge with some planned activities. The sites are fairly level for being in the Rockies, and are gravel pads. The Closest campground to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Cons: Not a whole lot of area for you to sit outside, because of the uneven seating area. Most people would sit behind or in front of their rigs on the site (gravel) site pads. No easy route to get to the campground, plus you must go through downtown Estes Park with lots of people and traffic. We thought the campground was a bit pricey, and the cell phone coverage was sporadic.

Cost: $50.00 (included extra charge for 50AMP and Cable)
Rating: 6.25
Notes: We stayed here because of the close proximity for touring Rocky Mountain National Park.
