We have created the campground page to assist you in deciding whether you would like to stay at a given campground. We currently have a 40' Diesel Motorhome with three slides; prior to 2007 we had a 35' Gas Motorhome with one slide. We do not rate campground bathroom facilities as we seldom use them; we prefer the convenience of our own restroom. We use the various campground links on the left side of this page in determining where to stay.

Happy Camping!

Ventura RV Park

Location: Ventura, CA
Site#: 60
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes, and we also used our Verizon Aircard
Cable: No
Pros: Pull through sites and samll grassy area between sites. The grounds were well maintained and looked very nice. We also found a nice walking/biking trail right outside the campground which was a bonus for us.
Cons: LOTS of road noise from 101, so much noise John renamed the park "Say What?". The prices on their website must be very dated and when I made the reservation the gentleman told me it was 50.00/day (total). When we got their the lady at the front desk said he must have forgotten to mention the 4.00/per dog fee and 5.00/day HOTEL tax. That is when I said "Say What?" and wasn't very happy. I told her that the website said the rate was 38 -41.50/night and she said she doesn't take care of that...do you want to stay or not. I wasn't too impressed with that friendly attitude.
Cost: $59.00 (50.00/ night + 4.00/per pet + 5.00 HOTEL tax)
Rating: 7.0
Notes: We stopped here on our tour of the Pacific Coast. This would be a nice place if it weren't for the road noise and the price. I would NOT stay here again, especially at that price.

Valle del Oro

Location: Mesa, AZ
Site#: 745
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes, but for a fee. We used our Verizon Aircard without an issue
Cable: Yes
Pros: Close to our family we were visiting in area. Nice clean park, and everyone very friendly Park has every amenity possible, if they had a grocery store you would never have to leave the park. Post Office on-site as well.

Cons: Sites had no privacy to your neighbors, and we had to watch where we walked the dog because some streets were pet restricted and some not (and not all streets were together); and if you missed a sign you sure heard about it.
Cost: $34.12 (average for 2 weeks and one week was passport america)
Rating: 8.75
Notes: They have a country store (flea market) once a week in the campground and we were not aware of this. We came in and left on the day of the country store, which made it very difficult getting through parts of the campgrounds as vehicles were parked on both sides of the streets. If you are going to stay here we would advice making sure you check on this before arriving.
