Location: Tierra Verde - Fort DeSoto State Park (Pinellas County Park)
Site#: 130
Type of hookups: Electric and Water hookup - 30 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes, the sites in the non-pet section were larger and did not have as many low tree branches as the pet section
Wi-Fi: No
Cable: No
Pros: Beautiful State Park, wonder beach, nice place to walk and bike.
Cons: Lots of low tree branches and curvy road; and some low tree branches at some campsites; however they were working on cleaning this up while we were there (Jan 2007).
Cost: 28.50 (Jan 2007)
Rating: 6.75 (would have been higher, except it was so difficult for us (with a big-rig) to get to our site with the low tree branches, curvy road, and narrow site. It is a very beatiful park).
Notes: The website will display photos for each site, which is very helpful. Make sure you take your time getting to your campsite as the road is very twisty; and their are many low tree branches.
We have created the campground page to assist you in deciding whether you would like to stay at a given campground. We currently have a 40' Diesel Motorhome with three slides; prior to 2007 we had a 35' Gas Motorhome with one slide. We do not rate campground bathroom facilities as we seldom use them; we prefer the convenience of our own restroom. We use the various campground links on the left side of this page in determining where to stay.
Happy Camping!
