We have created the campground page to assist you in deciding whether you would like to stay at a given campground. We currently have a 40' Diesel Motorhome with three slides; prior to 2007 we had a 35' Gas Motorhome with one slide. We do not rate campground bathroom facilities as we seldom use them; we prefer the convenience of our own restroom. We use the various campground links on the left side of this page in determining where to stay.

Happy Camping!

Ely KOA

Location: Ely, NV
Site#: 33
Type of hookups: Full hookups 50 AMP.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes.
Wi-Fi: Yes, but at a charge. We used our Verizon Aircard very good Cell coverage.
Cable: Yes, but at a charge (see notes below)
Pros: Not a lot of options in the area, and this appeared to be the best choice for a Pull through and 50 amp full-hookup site. Nice pet area and lots of room for us to walk. The surrounding mountains makes for a nice view. .
Cons: Tends to be dusty in this area, and the office staff was kind of rude.
Cost: $32.45 for our discount.
Rating: 6.0
Notes: We were going to reserve this site on-line before we got there, but knew we would be there early enough so we decided to wait until we got to the office. When we checked in the lady said if we were getting 50AMP we HAD to pay an extra 2.50 for cable. I told her we didn't need it, and she said it didn't matter if we wanted 50AMP we would have to pay the extra 2.50. Instead fussing too much about it we just paid it (we didn't feel like moving to another campground). When we went to hookup the cable it didn't work, we tried for about 40 minutes and then went to the office. The lady that checked me in said "Oh I forgot it hasn't worked since 9:00 this morning, and it maybe days before it is working". I told her she was the same person that argued with me about paying the extra 2.50, and that I expected a refund for a service they knew they could not provided. She said she couldn't do that and that I would have to talk to the manager. The manager gave me the refund, and said that it didn't matter what the website for KOA had given me for pricing they set the price not the corporate office. I have submitted an email to corporate and asked them to explain to me about the pricing on the website vs the pricing at check-in. The campground was very nice for this area and if it weren't for the Check-in person and the lies I caught her in we would think about returning here if in the area; but not now
The one thing that irritates me is BAD customer service!
